General vantages of using electronic ballasts

The use of our novel electronic ballast for discharging lamps with high power has many advantages to developers and users.

The new electronic universal ballast for high-pressure sodium (HPS) or hot iron discharge lamps (HID) from e-ballast is an innovation in lighting engineering.

  • It is possible to use discharging bulbs wit 250, 400 and 600 watt with one universal ballast.

  • Every power class has 16 different modes (switch 0-F) for the optimal regulation of light output and energy saving.

  • Up to now it is the only ballast worldwide which is usable with multiple bulbs and wattages.

  • The e-ballast is an 6in1 ballast!

  • The efficiency of our new ballast is much higher as from modern magnetic ballasts or tested electronic ballasts from competitors.

  • Even in comparison with the latest conventional ballasts there is a saving of energy of 5-10% with equal light output. Versus old magnetic ballasts a saving up to 30% is measurable.

  • With the modified energy management the negative effects to the electricity network are less than by using magnetic ballasts. Current peaks at the turn-on procedure are reduced and the contacts of switch- and control gears are not so heavily used.

  • Another advantage is the reduced weight of the electronic ballasts. The weight is only 10-20 % of an magnetic ballast. The installation of lighting fixtures will be much easier and the structure of buildings can be designed for less bearing load.

  • The gentle operation of the bulb - in particular until ignition - extends the average durability and the preservation of the luminous flux. This usually reduces the maintenance work by 50%.

  • The idle current is fully compensated and additional capacitors are not needed. Discharging units for lamps with power cord are unnecessary.
