Even in comparison with the latest generation of conventional ballasts there is a saving of energy of 5-10% by using the new e-ballast with equal light output. Versus old magnetic ballasts a saving up to 30% is measurable. In the following we show the 16 switching steps of our universal e-ballast with a 600 watt HPS bulb in a comparison measurement with ballasts from other European manufacturers. - The comparison indicates that the electronic ballasts which are made by competitors use less energy than magnetic ballasts but they also generate less light. The excite of light with those ballasts is not more efficient as with magnetic ballasts, they do not generate more light at the same energy consumption level.
The electronic ballasts from e-ballast are more efficient! We generate the same light output with less energy! 
The comparison measurement was made in a test set-up with a stationary reflector and a fixed photometer. We used a OSRAM NAV T 600 Super 4Y bulb. The power consumption was metered with a Voltcraft VC940 tester. |
